An introductory conversation
Book a consultation
If you’re wondering whether my support might suit you, you’re welcome to ask for a consultation. It’s £55 for the hour. There’s no rush and nothing to sign up to first. A few words is plenty.
What a consultation is
A consultation is an introductory conversation. It is a chance for us to see whether peer support feels like a fit, or a one-off consult if that is all you need. It is still peer support — not a clinical assessment, not therapy, not counselling, and not a diagnosis.
Consultations are held online only. There is no venue to travel to, and I do not offer in-person sessions.
A consultation is £55 for the hour. I need a little information ahead of time, and reading that is extra work on my side, so the fee is for the hour we meet and the time I spend reading what you send beforehand.
If money is tight, a concessionary rate can be available. It varies depending on income; I’ll agree a fee with you discreetly. You can mention that in your message, or tick the box on the form. There’s nothing to apply for and you don’t need to send documents.
Please don’t use this for urgent help
Free · not via meI read messages when I can, but this isn’t monitored constantly and it isn’t a crisis service. If you need someone right now, please use one of these instead — they’re free, they’re there around the clock, and they have nothing to do with me.
- Samaritans Call 116 123 Free from any phone, any time, day or night.
- Shout Text SHOUT to 85258 Free, confidential, 24/7 text support. It won’t appear on your phone bill.
- NHS 111 Call 111 and choose the mental health option For urgent help when you’re not sure what to do.
- Emergencies Call 999 If life is at immediate risk, or someone is seriously hurt.
There’s fuller signposting, including FRANK for drugs and alcohol and NHS routes across the UK, on the resources page.
Ask for a consultation
The way to ask, for now, is to send a message with Book a consultation chosen below. Share a little of what you’d like help with if you can — you do not need a long explanation, and you do not need your thoughts tidy first. I may send a few questions before we meet. If you want to ask about a concession, tick the box; that’s enough.
Please don’t put detailed personal or health information in a first message — just enough for me to understand what you’re asking. We can go into more depth later, in a more private setting, if that’s where things head.
I’m one person rather than an organisation, so replies aren’t instant. I’ll write back when I can. If you’ve not heard from me in a while, do feel free to nudge me.
Before you send anything, you may want to read how I handle your information.
Or email me
If you’d rather write in your own email, that works just as well. You can say you’d like a consultation. You can highlight the address and copy it — you do not need a mail app on this computer for that.
